UPDATE - 1/24/10

The Cow Town Showdown:  It’s getting closer!!!  Things are shaping up quite nicely for the Cow Tow Showdown.  More and more people and companies are hopping on board each week, because they see how big this really is going to be!  March 6th and 7th at Vets Memorial!  Be sure you make it out....it’s going to be epic!  You can register for the contest(s) at www.arnoldsportsfestival.com or at the contest(s), the day of.  Though, there are a limited amount of spots...so if you wait until the day of, there’s no telling how many spots will be left.  Just a word of caution.  Be sure to check out Minty’s interview on the Festival’s site as well, see what he says about being involved with the Showdown.  Also...on the night of March 5th, we’ll be throwing a pre-party at The Kickstand Pub, with our homeboys from Blueprint!  There will be a ramp contest, and some giveaways......just mayhem in general.  Once again, be sure to check out www.arnoldsportsfestival.com for all the info you need about the Cow Town Showdown.  We hope to see you there!

UPDATE - 2/14/10

Boards, Bikes & Babes:  So the Cow Town Showdown is getting closer and closer.  We figured, a good way to start off that weekend...would be a pre-party at our favorite little bar with a mini ramp, The Kickstand Pub.  Not only will there be a winner take all ramp contest, a fashion show (which will most likely consist of hot chicks dancing on the bar in skater t-shirts), but...we’ve got some major pros flying in the day before, to help us kick off the weekend!  Paul Shier, Danny Brady, Fred Gall, Marty Murawski, and Jon Nguyen!  It’s going down C-Bus!  Our crew will be there as well.  So I hope y’all are ready for smash explosive party, to kick off the biggest skateboarding event Columbus has seen in years!  Be there...Friday, March 5th...no, seriously...be there.

BIG UPDATE:  Okay, it’s been a crazy last couple weeks...a lot of last minute things, so many bases to cover, etc.  We’ve been running around like mad.  So, we’re gonna try and get you as up-to-date as possible before this huge weekend.


Cow Town Showdown Schedule:  The Cow Town will be held at Veteran’s Memorial on the 6th and 7th.  Doors open at 9 AM on both days.  There is no longer a Shop Contest, instead there will be a Beginner, Advanced, and Sponsored contest on Sunday.  Saturday will be an open skate session for those registered for Advanced and Sponsored division.  The Blueprint and Resident demo will also be on Saturday.  Here’s the full schedule:

Winners for all contests announced.


Contest Entry is $20.  All registration is at the door.  There will be tables there that will direct you to the right place in the lobby.  If you’re registered for the contest, then you get a pass for BOTH days that lets you hang out at the skateboarding area, as well as all the other events the Arnold has to offer.  There are shuttles available to take you to the various places, like the convention center for instance.  Anyone there to spectate, hang out, etc. will have to buy a pass, which is $10.  These are one day only, and have to be purchased each day.  But they will grant you access to all places/events at the Arnold as well.





Blueprint Skateboards Signing:  Paul Shier, Danny Brady, Marty Murawski, Jon Nguyen, and C-Bus’ own Jeff Trasin will be at Old Skool Skateshop in Westerville, from 5-6 PM on Friday for an autograph signing and to hang out.  Come by, and meet the guys.

Phil and Chris, on TV:  ABC 6 News came out to meet us at Skate Naked this past Sunday, to do a feature on skateboarding being added to the Arnold this year.  The short vid featured Phil and Chris skating, as well as a short interview with Phil.  Check it out at this link - http://www.myfox28columbus.com/shared/newsroom/top_stories/videos/wsyx_vid_2871.shtml


Resident Apparel:  All the new apparel is in!  T-shirts, both men and women are $20.  Hats, $20.  And hoodies are $40.  (The hoodies we had done, are different from what we previewed a bit ago, and we only have a very small amount to sell, so they will go quick.)  But we have more apparel coming very shortly, including more hoodies.  They will be available for sale at the Cow Town this weekend, as well as the Boards, Bikes & Babes pre-party at Kickstand on Friday!  This gear is hot...you must have to have it!


Boards, Bikes & Babes:  Don’t forget...the Board, Bikes & Babes party at Kickstand on Friday.  Mini Ramp contest, Pro Skaters, Prizes/Giveaways, Live Music, mayhem, face melting, etc., etc.  Minty will also be DJing to get things started around 8 PM.  Make sure you make it out.  This is going to be huge!!!!  Remember though, 21 AND OVER ONLY...this party is for grown folks.  See the poster below for details.


Outerbelt Wheels:  Outerbelt Wheels becomes official this weekend.  They will be available for purchase at the Cow Town.  First run is one size only, 54.  So if that’s what you rock, make sure an pick up a set.  You will not be disappointed, they are premium urethane!

What A Weekend:  So the Cow Town Showdown is over.  Wow!  Hard to believe that something that took 6 months to plan, could go by so fast!  Overall, I’d say it was a success.  We hope you got a chance to make it out, and if you did, we hope you had a great time.  We’d like to give a special shout out to our mates that joined us for the weekend...Paul Shier, Marty Murawski, Danny Brady, Jon Nguyen, Fred Gall, Spike, Joe, Dom...what a crazy weekend!  We hope you guys had as much fun as we did.  We definitely have the stories to prove it, especially Andy!  An extra special thanks to Wally and Tedd.  This never would have been possible without you guys.  You two are a staple in the skateboarding community.  Well, we still have much more planned for this year...summer is just around the corner, stay tuned!  Meanwhile, check out some pics from this weekend...

Cow Town Take 2:  If you hadn’t heard already, we were invited back in 2011 to do another Cow Town Showdown!  Tedd’s had a few meetings with Classic Productions in the last couple weeks...and they were impressed with everything, and how it all went down.  So get ready...next year, it’s gonna be even bigger.  More sponsors are already on board.  This is the beginning of something huge.

Make Friends With The Colour Blue:  This coming weekend, we are helping to bring Blueprint to Columbus in a big way, along with our friends at The Kickstand Pub!  Sunday, May 2nd at 6PM the premiere of Blueprint’s new video, Make Friends With The Colour Blue, will be shown on the big screen at the Kickstand.  Make sure you come out for this...it’s gonna be epic!

A Walk In The Park:  For the past 3 weeks...we’ve been hard at work filming our next promo video, A Walk In The Park.  Filmed entirely at Skate Naked Skate Park.  It’s been a lot of work, and the guys have been getting some great footage.  The footage is in great hands as well, being edited and directed by Joe Charlton.  It’s in the homes stretch now...look for it very soon...as early as next week.

UPDATE - 7/18/10

Pat’s Big Win:  This past Saturday, the AGA Summer Tour stopped at Mingo Park (the Delaware skatepark) to put on a contest as part of their big tour.  It was a great turn out, lots of local talent throwing it down big time.  But our boy Pat Rumney stole the show!  Taking the overall win, along with $200 cash!  And the invite up to Michigan for the chance to win big money.  A big congrats to Pat for his win (and all the winners from Saturday)!

UPDATE - 7/19/10

Columbus Loses a Friend:  It’s with a heavy heart that we bring you the news that local radio station DJ and Programming Director John Andrew “Andyman” Davis passed away this weekend. Andyman started at CD101 in 1991, and became Programming Director  in 1998.  A friend to many of us, and a voice we’ll all remember.  A true friend of Columbus, and someone that will be missed dearly.  Andy is survived by his wife, Molly, and their three sons Johnny, Oliver, and Sammy.  Our thought’s a prayers go out to them.  A memorial fund has been setup to benefit Andy’s family.  Please see www.cd101.com/andyman for more details.  Also, tonight CD101 will be paying tribute to Andyman at 10PM EST (on their new channel 102.5), make sure you tune in.

Kickstand Music Festival:  The Second Annual Kickstand Music Festival is coming up!  Saturday, July 31st.  This is sort of a anniversary party for us in way, since our official launch party was at the Kickstand Music Festival, last year.  So we hope you all can make it out to not only help us celebrate, but also have a good time for a good cause.  The event is benefiting Pets Without Parents.  A non-profit, no-kill, all-breed shelter for dogs and cats.  These are great people, doing great things, so lets give them the support they deserve.  There will also be live music all day and night (inside and outside).  A hog roast, a car/bike cruise-in, food & drinks, etc.  And most of all, along with the help of Old Skool Skateshop...we’re building a mini (outdoor) skate park, just like last year.  So make sure you bring your boards.  There is a $5 cover, but all outdoors proceeds go to Pets Without Parents.  NOTE: Outdoors is open to ALL AGES, but indoors is 21 and over only.  Hope to see you all there!!!

Get Right x Skate Naked:  Get Right is a monthly dance party fueled by rap and hip-hop with an unpredictable crowd.  It’s gained quite the following in Columbus, and moves to different venues each month.  This month, it’s at Skate Naked.  And this should be pretty rad!!  18+, $5 to get in....and the carnage starts at 10PM!  See the flyer below for details.  We’ll also be there, throwin’ out free t-shirts!  This Friday, we better see you there!

Pat takes it all!:  A big congrats to Pat!  A few weeks ago, Pat took the overall win at the AGA Tour stop up in Delaware.  Well, this past Saturday...up in Michigan, he won the whole thing.  Taking 1st in Advanced Skate.  He’s on a roll folks!  He’s ON FIRE!
